ESSE Gives Back: A Shelter Fundraising Event

Have you done your part for charity lately? To be honest it's been awhile since I volunteered, and I miss it. Volunteering for me is much less about what I give and a lot more about what I get in return, which does make me sound selfish doesn't it? But truly. It gives you perspective and reminds you of how fortunate you are to be blessed with the life you have, and that we're all in this together - that this time it's you lending a hand to them and if and when you're tested with a similar hardship, someone will reach out their helping hand to you too. Humans aren't made to live alone - we're made to look after one another. And the best part of it? Forming lifelong friendships, and having about a billion times more fun than people would expect!

By the way, this video as a lovely reminder to us all (myself included!)
If you feel like you don't have the time to, at least spare us a few hours this Friday? :) No hard work involved, just  make your way over to an art sale event, the proceeds of which will go SHELTER.

SHELTER is not new to any of you, I'm sure. But just as a formal introduction, SHELTER is a registered welfare organization in Malaysia that has been in existence since 1981 to help abused, abandoned, neglected or at-risk children. They provide care and education to them and raise public awareness on issues such child abuse and child protection.

About The Event
ESSE Gives Back is a one day "Nature" themed charity art sale event. The event encourages children all over the world to participate by creating an artwork about nature. These amazing young artists, ages from 3 to 16 years old, painted their love for nature into these artworks. The artworks are submitted from as far away as USA and South Africa, to Hong Kong, China, Australia, Singapore and also from Malaysia. All the artworks are painted by children, for children.
I've seen some of the artwork, and they are amazing! Personally, I have mad love for (our) 14-year old Charmaine Ng's paintings in particular. They're gorgeous you guyss!

No doubt many people who try to sabotage the social rights of children in sexual abuse, and so on. We as human beings who respect and love the child will need to take care of their welfare and safety of all for the future of humanity itself.
